Bread Baking Class:

June 10th 1:30-3:30pm $30

Learn the history of grain and processing. Grind grain manually and electrically. Learn how easy, quick, nutritious, and delicious it is to grind and bake. What about sprouted wheat and different grains? Hard vs. soft grain, spelt, quinoa, and much more. Incorporate fresh ground whole wheat and all it’s benefits in all your cooking. Even those with gluten allergies have been able to tolerate this less processed or sprouted grain bread recipes. Learn all the basics at this one-day class. Instructor has been grinding grain and baking for 12 years. Buy your organically grown wheat, grinders, kitchen equipment, and more from a local family.

Yogurt and Cheese Class:

June 17th 1:30-3:30pm $30
Come see how inexpensive and easy it is to make your own yogurt and ricotta cheese. Regular milk will be transformed into delicious and nutritious yogurt and cheese. In the way of nourishing traditions the whey will be used and not thrown out. Only normal household kitchen equipment will be used. Anyone can do this in their own home

Announcing Upper Room’s Kids Summer Workshop:


First session: June 27th-July 1st from 9:30-3:30 $150 per child
Second session: August 1st-5th from 9:30-3:30pm $150 per child

Learn the whole process from Sheep to scarf including: shearing, skirting, washing, and carding the fleece until you can finally spin it on both a drop spindle and a spinning wheel! Participants will also get to dye, learn basic weaving, knit, crochet, extract and dye silk from silkworm cocoons, Japanese braiding: kumihimo, wet felt, needle felt in 2-D and sculpt in 3-D. So many things to make and do!

Feed and care for angora bunnies while learning the history of fiber and experience first hand the fun of transforming it into useful art. Bring lunch and sunscreen and play in the pool.

Ages 7 and up.
