Watch a cold processed soap demo. Learn how easy it is to make wonderful, good for you soap the old fashioned way. Make your own laundry soap and take home a quart of it. Make your own fabric softener and take that home, too! Get rid of mold naturally and make special “green” cleaning solutions without spending a fortune!!







Dye Party

Sept 17th $70 from 2-5pm Come learn the difference between hand painted and hand dyed yarns and learn how to do both of them! Kettle dying, steaming, painting... come watch the demos and hand paint or dye your own using the steaming method. Use 14 different jacquard colors to create your own work of art.

Bring your own wool or yarn to dye or buy it through Upper Room and everything else will be provided!

Wear dirty clothes! :-) Call or email if interested in buying fiber or yarn for discounted price for the class.

Learn the history of grain and processing. Grind grain manually and electrically. Learn how easy, quick, nutritious, and delicious it is to grind and bake. What about sprouted wheat and different grains? Hard vs. soft grain, spelt, quinoa, and much more. Incorporate fresh ground whole wheat and all it’s benefits in all your cooking. Even those with gluten allergies have been able to tolerate this less processed or sprouted grain bread recipes. Learn all the basics at this one-day class. Instructor has been grinding grain and baking for 12 years. Buy your organically grown wheat, grinders, kitchen equipment, and more from a local family



Processing: From Sheep to Shawl

October 1st 2-4:30pm Cost is $55.

We will cover the whole process of skirting, picking, washing, carding/combing, and spinning as well as different type of fibers. Learn what it takes to go from "sheep to shawl"!







Yogurt and Cheese Class:

October 15th 1:30-3:30pm $30

Come see how inexpensive and easy it is to make your own yogurt and ricotta cheese. Regular milk will be transformed into delicious and nutritious yogurt and cheese. In the way of nourishing traditions the whey will be used and not thrown out. Only normal household kitchen equipment will be used. Anyone can do this in their own home.



Basic Spinning Class: Oct. 15th 1pm $55

2 1/2 hour lesson covering the basics of spinning: fibers, drafting, posture, etc. We have 11 floor model wheels to try from Ashford, Kromski, Schacht, Louet, and Majacraft.
